E-COMMERCE WIZARD TUTORIAL

Overview: Learning the Components of your Shopping Cart

Overview

There are four components that make up the E-Commerce Wizard. Browse the list below to see brief descriptions of each section. Construct your online store in this order:

I

 1. Product Management
 2. Shopingcart Management
 3. Catalog Management
 4. Order Management

II

     Building the Storefront

1. Product Management

To manage your E-Commerce Wizard, all your products must be arranged so that customers can make sense of what they are browsing for. Organize your store this way:

  • First arrange your products into Categories
  • Second place Products in their corresponding categories

Think of it like a supermarket. There is the produce section, the meat section and so on. The produce section has fruits and vegetables, the meats section has poultry, beef, etc. Make the same arrangement with your products.

2. Shopcart Management

Use to configure your E-Commerce Wizard's options such as:

  • Connecting Shopping cart to your Domain Name
  • Payment options (credit card, check, PayPal)
  • Shopping Cart Engine colors
  • Header and Footer display (Very Important!)

                      Shopping Cart Engine

3. Catalog Management

After Product Management, your E-Commerce Wizard must be configured a little further with Catalogs. There are two options:

                  Catalog for Electronic Products

What is a Catalog?
A Catalog is a group that shows the Products of one Category For example, this picture shows a Catalog of the Category 'electronics' and there are 3 Products in it.

How is a Catalog made?
The E-Commerce Wizard generates Catalogues in the form of web page links. Put these links in your Storefront pages to build your online store.

What is a Storefront?
The Storefront is the actual group of web pages that your customers will use to buy from your site.

4. Order Management

Once your shopping cart is up and running use Order Management to process customer orders. Once the customer has placed an order from your Storefront, you can charge via:

  • Check/MOD (money Order)
  • PayPal (requires PayPal account)
  • Credit Card (requires a merchant account)
