How
this works
Sub Folder means any folder/directory
existing within the root folder. This function allows setting up more than
one web site under the
same hosting account.
Under normal circumstances, mapping a domain to your
disk space results in such domain pointing to the same web site. (i.e.
typing erwin.com and pete.com would show you the same web site.) However, by mapping a domain name to a sub folder in your disk space, it is
possible to host independent web sites in each of the sub
folders mapped. (i.e. erwin.com would show you one web site and pete.com
would show you a different web site.) This is called Virtual
Hosting.
This same
principle applies to sub domains.
You can also
combine mapping domains at the root folder and mapping domains to subfolders.
