How to enable and use Web sFTP tool from hosting control panel


We have introduced a new tool for you to transfer your files between your local computers to our server. It is available in hosting control panel panel->site admin->Web sFTP Tool.

In this section it will automatically load a Java FTP application to connect to our server with your control panel password.

Note1:This new tool requires to be ran on computers with Java Plugin 1.5 installed. You may download it via http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_ie.jsp?locale=en&host=www.java.com:80&bhcp=1 .You have to enable the browser to run Java as well. Please follow the steps in http://www.java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xml

Note2: If you are the first time to load this application, it will prompt a window: The application's digital signature has been verified? Do you want to run the application? Please check the [always trust content from this publisher] option and Click [Run]




Note3: If this tool prompts invalid FTP username or password Error. Please change the FTP password for main account at hosting control panel->security->ftp manager to the control panel password.

Once this tool is connected with our server, the left section will show the folders and files in the local computer, while the right section will show folders and files in web server(Home directory of the FTP account).

Left section contains functions:

1. Mkdir: create directory in the current directory in local computer.
2. Rename: Rename files/directories in the current directory of the local computer.
3. Delete: Remove the selected files/directories in local computer.
4. Refresh: Refresh current files/directories list in local computer.
5. Resume: continue to upload the interrupted files/directories to remote server.
6. Upload: upload the selected files/directories to remote server.
7. Zipupload: zip multiple files/folders and upload to remote server.


Right section contains functions:

1. Mkdir: create directory in the current directory in remote server
2. Rename: Rename files/directories in the current directory of the remote server
3. Delete: Remove the selected files/directories in remote server
4. Refresh: Refresh current files/directories list
5. Resume: continue to download the interrupted files/directories to local computer.
6. Download: Download the selected files/directories to local computer.

The ">>" and "<<" buttons between the two sections represent the Upload and download functions respectively.


You may also select to transfer files in ASCII or binary mode by selecting the radio buttons "ASCII" or "Binary" under the Local and Remote System.


The Text field
under the radio buttons will show the activities of Web sFTP Tool.

If you need to unzip the zip file uploaded to our server, please make use of the site admin->file manger->zip icon to unzip the files
