I wish to transfer a domain under my account to a different account

Notice this article is specific for customer using our domain register service. If you do not register your domain with us and you need to transfer domain, please refer this article.

In order to transfer domain name to a different account, you will have to do the following:

1. Go into domain manager -> domaindetail and update the administrative information to be the same asaccount owner information for the other hosting account.

2. Submit a domain name move request inhelpdesk. Please keep in mind that if the administrative contactinformation is different from the account owner information at thedestination hosting account, we will not be able to authorize domainname move.

Transfer domain names from GoDaddy to our hosting

Overview

This page takes you step by step through the procedure for transferring a domain away from GoDaddy and into an account at Webhost4life.

The transfer process involves the tasks that are described below. Following the transfer tasks, we provide information about tracking the progress of the transfer, and ICANN rules regarding rejections.

Transfer Task 1: Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer

To make sure your domain name can be transferred, check the following:

The domain name has been registered for at least 60 days, and has been at GoDaddy for at least 60 days.
The Registrant contact information has not changed for at least 60 days.
The domain name is not in "client update prohibited" status.

Transfer Task 2: Update Administrative contact information

Before you can transfer a domain, the Administrative contact information (especially the email address) must be up-to-date at GoDaddy, because the Administrative contact receives the transfer request and okays the transfer.

Note: GoDaddy regards any changes to the Registrant contact information to be an "internal transfer" and will reject any transfer requests for 60 days after changes to the Registrant contact information. We recommend that you leave Registrant contact information as-is at GoDaddy. As long as either the Registrant or Admin email address is correct and you're using the Auto Verification method, you can make any needed changes once the domain name has successfully transferred to Webhost4life.

To update the Administrative contact at GoDaddy:

Log on to your account at GoDaddy.com.
On the "Domains" menu, click "My domain names".
Click the domain name you want to transfer.
If the Administrative contact information is incorrect, click the "edit" link next to the Administrative contact at the bottom of the page.
Update the Administrative contact information and click "OK".

Transfer Task 3: Obtain the authorization code or retag the domain name

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorization code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorized source.

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, or .biz domain name, obtain the authorization code from GoDaddy:

On the "My domain names" page, click the domain you want to transfer.
In the "Authorization Code" section, click "Send by email".
Click "OK".

To retag a .uk domain name:

Contact GoDaddy and ask them to retag the domain name to ISP tag Webhost4life.
Alternatively, you can retag/detag directly through Nominet, for a fee.
When you transfer a .uk domain name, use the Auto verification transfer method.
You can submit the transfer requests to Webhost4life and GoDaddy in any order.
If you submit the transfer request to Webhost4life first, you must submit the request to GoDaddy within a week.
If you submit the transfer request to GoDaddy first, you must submit the request to Webhost4life by the next 8th day of the calendar month.

Transfers of TLDs other than those named above do not require any codes or tags.

Transfer Task 4: Unlock the domain name

Before you can transfer a domain name away from GoDaddy, it must be unlocked. Locking is a feature most registrars offer to prevent unauthorized transfers (hijacking) of domain names.

To unlock:

On the "My domain names" page, click the domain name you want to transfer.
In the "Settings" section, next to the "Locked" status, click "Change".
Select "Unlock" and click "OK".

Transfer Task 5: Transfer the domain name to Webhost4life

Once you have prepared the domain name at GoDaddy, you're ready to transfer to Webhost4life.

To transfer your domain name to Webhost4life:

Log on to your Webhost4life control panel.
Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.
Once you receive the transfer request email, you will be able to launch the transfer authorization request email and fill in the authorization code if needed.
Click "submit" to finish the transfer authorization request

How to change name server (DNS) after transferring my domain to you?

After I transferred my domain to you, I can't change the name server (DNS) to that of yours. What should I do?

1) Login to your control panel
2) Go to Domain, and click Domain Manager
3) You should be able to see the domains that transferred to us. Please click Detail besides the domain.
4) Please unlock your domain before changing your name server. There's a status called Locked. Edit it and change it to "Not Locked"
5) Then you can change the name server to our servers now.
6) Remember to Locked your domain again after you changed the name server
7) Please wait around 1 hours for DNS propagation.

How can I add/delete domain to my hosting account?

You can add/delete your domain to hosting account via Hosting Control Panel -> Domains -> Domain name.

There are four actions in this section:

Add a New Site: This action will let you add a new domain to point to a subfolder. It will create a new IIS entry in server, which can serve for a different site with the primary domain.

Domain Name: The registered domain name you would like to add to your hosting account.

Map To: The desired path in the server you would point the registered domain name to.

.Net Version: The asp.net version you would like your site to run with.

Note: Additional fee may apply depends on your plan and we will also offer you free email service on the domain you added.

Add a Domain to Existing Website: This section allows you to point a new domain name to another website that you've hosted with us. (The primary domain or the domains added in “Add a New Site” will be listed in this section). Click [Add to This Site] button to add the domain to the existing site. It will not create a new IIS entry in server but add a domain’s host headers to the same IIS entry served for existing website.
1) Click "Go" beside the destination domain name that you would like to point to
2) Enter domain name
3) Press "Add Domain"

Add Email Service to Domain: In this section, control panel will list out Domain names without Email Services and Domain names with Email Services Already under your account. You can click (Add Email Service) button to enable email service on that domain

Note: Additional fee may apply depends on your plan and you can point the domain with email service to a subfolder for serving a different site.

Delete: In this section, control panel will list out Domain/subdomain names you have added to your hosting account, you can click [Delete] button to remove the domain from your hosting account.

How to migrate a domain from a windows hosting account to a linux account?

Please follow the steps below:
1) Make a copy of current DNS settings of your domain. You can find it in control panel > DNS >
    select the domain > edit zone. Please notice to put down the name servers (DNS Group) as well.

2) Go to domains > domain name > delete > select the domain and delete it.

3) Login to Control Panel of Linux hosting account > domains > domain name >
    add a new site to add the domain.

    If the new name servers (DNS Group) are different from the old ones please login your domain name
    register account to change to the new name servers.

4) Edit DNS records of the domain according to the old copy except for name servers. The DNS records of
domain web server should remain the same as previous one.

    Please notice that domain email need to migrate when transferring a domain from a windows
    account to a linux account. Please open a ticket to ask our staff for assistant.

Transfer domain names from directNIC or Intercosmos to our hosting

Click "Domain Manager".
In the row of the domain you want to transfer, click the "Change Contact Information" icon.
If the Registrant or Administrative contact information is incorrect (especially email addresses), open the dropdown menu and select the contact type.
Type in the correct contact information.
Click "Modify".

Transfer Task 3: Obtain the authorization code

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorization code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorized source.

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, .cn, .tw, .cc, or .in domain name, obtain the authorization code from directNIC or Intercosmos

Log on to your account at directnic.com.
Click "Domain Manager".
Click the domain name you want to transfer.
The authinfo code is displayed in the "Details" section of the page. Copy and store it to supply in the transfer request at Webhost4life.

Transfers of TLDs other than those named above do not require any codes or tags.

Transfer Task 4: Unlock the domain

Before you can transfer a domain away from directNIC or Intercosmos, the domain must be unlocked. Locking is a feature most registrars offer to prevent unauthorized transfers (hijacking) of domains.

To unlock:

Log on to your account at directnic.com.
On the "Customer Settings" menu, select "Set Transfer Security", and then click "Change Security Settings for Individual Domains".
If the domain you want to transfer is locked, select it and submit the transfer status change.

Transfer Task 5: Transfer the domain name to Webhost4life

Once you have prepared the domain name at directNIC or Intercosmos, you're ready to transfer to Webhost4life.

To transfer your domain name to Webhost4life:

Log on to your Webhost4life control panel.
Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.
Once you receive the transfer request email, you will be able to launch the transfer authorization requets email and fill in the authorization code if needed.
Click "submit" to finish the transfer authorization request

Log on to your account at domaindiscover.com.
Click "domains".
click "registrar lock".
Turn registrar lock "off" and save changes.
click "view auth-info".
Copy and store the authorization code; you'll need to supply it when you submit the transfer request at Webhost4life.

Transfers of TLDs other than those named above do not require an authorization code.

Transfer Task 4: Transfer the domain name to Webhost4life

Once you have prepared the domain name at DomainDiscover, you're ready to transfer to Webhost4life.

To transfer your domain name to Webhost4life:

Log on to your Webhost4life control panel.
Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.
Once you receive the transfer request email, you will be able to launch the transfer authorization request email and fill in the authorization code if needed.

Log on to your account at Dotregistrar.com.
Assign the authorization code using the "Domains to Transfer-Out" option.

To retag a .uk domain name:

Contact DotRegistrar and ask them to retag the domain name to ISP tag Webhost4life.
Alternatively, you can retag/detag directly through Nominet, for a fee.
When you transfer a .uk domain name, use the Auto verification transfer method.

Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorizationÂ request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.

Log on to your account at fabulous.com.
In the "Manage" area, click "Domains".
For the domain you want to transfer, click "Contact".
Select the appropriate menu items.
To add a new contact, click "Add Contacts" and type in the new contact information. When you finish, click "Continue".

Transfer Task 3: Unlock the domain name and obtain the authorization code

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorization code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorized source.

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, or .info domain name, obtain the authorization code from Fabulous:

Log on to your account at fabulous.com.
In the "Manage" area, click "Domains".
For the domain you want to transfer, click "Contact".
Navigate to your domain and click "Transfer". This unlocks your domain for five days.
Copy and save the authorization code that appears, to include in the transfer request you submit at Webhost4life.

Once you have prepared the domain name at Fabulous, you're ready to transfer to Webhost4life.

To transfer your domain name to Webhost4life:

Log on to your Webhost4life control panel.
Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.

Log on to your account at ItsYourDomain.com and go to the Domain Manager.
In the "Manage Your Domain" section, click "Authorization Codes".
Click "Get Code". The authorization code will be emailed to the Administrative contact for the domain.

Transfers of TLDs other than those named above do not require any codes or tags.

Transfer Task 4: Unlock the domain

Before you can transfer a domain away from ItsYourDomain, the domain must be unlocked. Locking is a feature most registrars offer to prevent unauthorized transfers (hijacking) of domains.

To unlock:

Log on to your account at ItsYourDomain.com and go to the Domain Manager.
Click "Transfer Shield".
Answer the security question.
Click "Edit Transfer Shield".
Select the domain name you want to transfer and click "Continue".
Select an "Armed" status of "No" and click "Continue".

Transfer Task 5: Transfer the domain name to Webhost4life

Once you have prepared the domain name at ItsYourDomain, you're ready to transfer to Webhost4life.

To transfer your domain name to Webhost4life:

Log on to your Webhost4life control panel.
Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.
Once you receive the transfer request email, you will be able to launch the transfer authorization request email and fill in the authorization code if needed.

Transfer domain names from Joker to our hosting

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, or .cn domain name, obtain the authorization code from Joker

Log on to your account at Joker.com.
In the menu, click "Service zone".
In te "Advanced Options" section, click "proceed".
In the "AUTH-ID Request" section, click "proceed".
In the "Domain" box, type the domain name, and then click "Send Auth-ID".

Transfers of TLDs other than those named above do not require any codes or tags.

Transfer Task 4: Unlock the domain

Before you can transfer a domain away from Joker, the domain must be unlocked. Locking is a feature most registrars offer to prevent unauthorized transfers (hijacking) of domains.

To unlock:

Log on to your account at Joker.com.
In the menu, click "Service zone".
Click "Switch off domain protection".
If prompted, save or apply your changes.

Transfer Task 5: Transfer the domain name to Webhost4life

Once you have prepared the domain name at Joker, you're ready to transfer to Webhost4life.

To transfer your domain name to Webhost4life:

Log on to your Webhost4life control panel.
Navigate to "DOMAINS" > "domain transfer
Enter domain name you wish to transfer.
If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.
Once you receive the transfer request email, you will be able to launch the transfer authorization request email and fill in the authorization code if needed.
Click "submit" to finish the transfer authorization request

Transfer domain names from Melbourne IT to our hosting

To update these contacts at Melbourne IT:

Log on to your account at MelbourneIT.com.au.
Click "View/Manage Domain Names".
Click the domain name you want to transfer.
If the contact information needs to be updated, click "Change Contact Details" and then click "Go to Advanced Mode".
Make any needed changes and click "OK".

Transfer Task 3: Obtain the authorization code or retag the domain name

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorization code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorized source.

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, .cn, .tw, .cc, or .in domain name, obtain the authorization code from Melbourne IT

Log on to your account at MelbourneIT.com.au.
Click "View/Manage Domain Names".
Click the domain name you want to transfer.
In the "Domain Details" section, click "Retrieve Domain Name (authinfo) Password".
The password displays in the interface. Record it so you can supply it in the transfer request at Webhost4life.

To retag a .uk domain name:

Contact Melbourne IT and ask them to retag the domain name to ISP tag Webhost4life.
Alternatively, you can retag/detag directly through Nominet, for a fee.
When you transfer a .uk domain name, use the Auto verification transfer method.
You can submit the transfer requests to Webhost4life and Melbourne IT in any order.
If you submit the transfer request to Webhost4life first, you must submit the request to Melbourne IT within a week.
If you submit the transfer request to Melbourne IT first, you must submit the request to Webhost4life by the next 8th day of the calendar month.

If the domain name is transferrable, you would be taken to the next page to fill out the contact information for your domains. Once you click submit, the transfer authorization request email will be sent to your administrative contact email address.

Please follow these step to transfer the domain from one account to another:

1) Login to hosting control panel of account old account
2) Remove the domain from old account (after login Control Panel, click "Domain" >> "Delete Domain", select "Domain Transfer To Another Account" if there have email service of this domain). Logout.
3) Login to hosting control panel of account new account
4) Add the domain to account new account in "Domain" >> Domain Name >> Add New Domain
5) Go to "DNS" and edit the DNS of the domain
6) Change the A record of yourdomain.com, *.yourdomain.com & www.yourdomain.com to the new server ip of the new account.
7) Save
8) Wait about 45 minutes for the DNS propagated.
9) Restart your computer and give the domain a test.

This page takes you step by step through the procedure for transferring a domain away from Dotster and into an account at Webhost4life.

Transfer Task 1: Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer

To make sure your domain name can be transferred, check the following:

The domain name has been registered for at least 60 days, and has been at Dotster for at least 60 days.
The domain name is not in "client update prohibited" status.

Transfer Task 2: Confirm contact information

Before you can transfer a domain, the Registrant and Administrative contact information must be up-to-date at Dotster, because it is these contacts who receive the transfer request and okay the transfer.

To update these contacts at Dotster:

Log on to your account at Dotster.com.
click the "My Domains" tab.
Select the check boxes of the domain you want authorization codes for, or click "Select All".
Open the "Step 2" menu and click "Change Contact Information".
Click "Registrant" or "Administrative". The Registrant and Administrative contacts, especially the email addresses, must be correct to approve transfers.
If you want to apply the same changes to the other contact types, select the check boxes next to the contacts.
Click "Update".
To finalize the change, click "Yes".

Transfer Task 3: Obtain the authorization code or retag the domain name

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorization code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorized source.

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, .cn, .tw, .cc, or .in domain name, obtain the authorization code from Dotster

Log on to your account at Dotster.com.
Click the "My Domains" tab.
Select the check box next to the domain name you want to transfer.

Click "Go". Dotster's system sends an email containing the authorization code to the domain registrant.

To retag a .uk domain name:

When you transfer a .uk domain name, use the Auto verification transfer method.

Simply submit a transfer for your domain in the domain name transfer area.

The following requirements must be met before you can transfer your domain name:

*Since transfer confirmation is done via email, the admin contact emailaddress listed on your domain name must be valid. If you are unsure ofwhat you have listed please perform a whois lookup. If the address isinvalid, you must contact your existing registrar to correct it.

* You must have your CIRA User Account Number and Password, as you will be required to confirm this request with CIRA

* Your domain name must be at least 30 days old. This is a registry-imposed requirement that affects all registrars.

*There must be no outstanding Critical Changes on your domain. Forexample, you must have approved all recent admin contact changes.

How can I transfer my .de domain to your hosting?

You need to submit a transfer request using the control panel.

Pleasenote that the .de registry (DENIC) requires that the Registrar you aretransferring your domain to must receive, via fax, a writtenauthorization of the transfer request from the domain Registrant(admin contact). This authorization must be kept on record should theRegistry request it in the case of a dispute.

This mean you will need to supply us with the faxed request prior to the transfer being initiated.

Unlike.com, .net and .org, which have a sixty (60) day post registrationtransfer hold restriction, transfers in and out are not restricted toany type of hold period. This means that a transfer can essentially beperformed at any time after a domain is registered.

DENIC alsoimposes a non-refundable transfer fee on each transfer request,regardless of whether the transfer was successful or not.
