How to transfer from MS Window Hosting Plan to Linux Plan?

To migrate your site from windows server, you can follow the steps below.

1) Register a Linux account in the this page

2) Backup your files and databases in your current MS Window Hosting account.

3) Upload the files and restore the databases in your new Linux account

4)Remove your domains from your current MS Window Hosting account. You can do that in control panel ->domain -> Delete. Please REMEMBER to check the "Domain Transfer ToAnother Account" option before you confirm.

5) Add the domain in your Linux account.

6)Check and update the DNS information in your Linux account's controlpanel to make sure your domain points to the Linux server. You can edit the DNS record in your control panel -> DNS -> Edit Zone

7) Test whether your site works in your Linux account. If it works, you can ask us to cancel your current Window account.

8) Open a new ticket and request us to move your email service. Please provide your MS Window account id, Linux account id and the domain that comes with email services in the ticket.

Please also note that all the forwards, alias settings and the address bookwill have to be recreated on the new email server again. Also, the total mail box spaces and number of mailing list will be changed too.

How do I make sure that my site does not go down when I change over to your service?

Open an account with us and then follow these steps:

1.Upload a copy of your website to our servers. You will receive atemporary URL with your account that you can use to make sure yourpages are working properly.

2. Add your Domain to your account. Go to your Control Panel -> Domains -> Domain Name -> click on the Add a New Site button and add your domain name.

3. Create or re-create your e-mail accounts in our mail servers.

Important: Take step 4 only when you are positive that your site is ready.

4. Access your domain name registrar* and change your DNS information.

Your DNS information can be found on the first page of your control panel after you login.

*Your domain name registrar is the place where you purchased your domain name.

5. Cancel service with your old provider. (Applies only if your web site is hosted by another provider.)

How can I connect to your server with FTPeS FTP over explicit TLS/SSL?

FTPeS is a secure FTP protocol that allows users to transmit files over an encrypted channel. Our server supports FTPeS (FTP over explicit TLS/SSL), you may download a FTP client to connect to our server with FTPeS.

Take filezilla as an example, you may setup it via file->site manager

Host: Your hosting web server. It can be sitexxx.mysite4now.net or sitexxx.mysite4now.com or domain.com you have added to your hosting account
Port: 21
Server type: FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL
Logontype: Normal
User: Your FTP account name
Password: Your FTP account password

When you connect FTPS for the first time, you will get a prompt for unknown certificate

It is the certificate auto-generated by our FTP server agent, please check the "Always trust certificate in future sessions" and click OK.

After that, you can transfer your site files between local computer and server using FTPeS.

How to enable and use Web sFTP tool from hosting control panel

We have introduced a new tool for you to transfer your files between your local computers to our server. It is available in hosting control panel panel->site admin->Web sFTP Tool.

In this section it will automatically load a Java FTP application to connect to our server with your control panel password.

Note1:This new tool requires to be ran on computers with Java Plugin 1.5 installed. You may download it via http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_ie.jsp?locale=en&host=www.java.com:80&bhcp=1 .You have to enable the browser to run Java as well. Please follow the steps in http://www.java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xml

Note2: If you are the first time to load this application, it will prompt a window: The application's digital signature has been verified? Do you want to run the application? Please check the [always trust content from this publisher] option and Click [Run]

Note3: If this tool prompts invalid FTP username or password Error. Please change the FTP password for main account at hosting control panel->security->ftp manager to the control panel password.

Once this tool is connected with our server, the left section will show the folders and files in the local computer, while the right section will show folders and files in web server(Home directory of the FTP account).

Left section contains functions:

1. Mkdir: create directory in the current directory in local computer.
2. Rename: Rename files/directories in the current directory of the local computer.
3. Delete: Remove the selected files/directories in local computer.
4. Refresh: Refresh current files/directories list in local computer.
5. Resume: continue to upload the interrupted files/directories to remote server.
6. Upload: upload the selected files/directories to remote server.
7. Zipupload: zip multiple files/folders and upload to remote server.

Right section contains functions:

1. Mkdir: create directory in the current directory in remote server
2. Rename: Rename files/directories in the current directory of the remote server
3. Delete: Remove the selected files/directories in remote server
4. Refresh: Refresh current files/directories list
5. Resume: continue to download the interrupted files/directories to local computer.
6. Download: Download the selected files/directories to local computer.

The ">>" and "<<" buttons between the two sections represent the Upload and download functions respectively.

You may also select to transfer files in ASCII or binary mode by selecting the radio buttons "ASCII" or "Binary" under the Local and Remote System.

The Text field
under the radio buttons will show the activities of Web sFTP Tool.

If you need to unzip the zip file uploaded to our server, please make use of the site admin->file manger->zip icon to unzip the files

What is my temporary domain name?

Your temporary domain name is specified inthe instruction e-mail that you received when you signed up. It shouldbe in the format of http://sitexxx.mysite4now.com/yourID. Look for it and you will find it. You can also find your temp URL in Control Panel -> Account. You will retain this temporary domain name until your permanent domain is set up.

How to migrate SQL Express to SQL2005

Since March2008, we no longer support SQLExpress engine. If you are not sure ifyour website is using SQLExpress and need to perform migrate action,please check the instructions below.

Please note,if you are NOT using ASP.NET 2.0 or above, and if your ASP.NET websitedoes not have dynamic data, such as product information, membershipinformation, you are most likely not using SQLExpress.

To confirm whether you\'re using sql express database or sql server database, you can follow the following step.

Please checkthe web.config file under your domain/application root folder. Look forkeyword "sqlexpress" within this text file, if you are usingSqlExpress, you should find something similar to:

(you may find thiskeyword, but it's commented out by , in such case thisconnection string does not take effect and you are not affected)

If you donot find the above keyword or a connectionstring specifying SqlExpress,you are not affected and you can ignore this notification.

To attach the SQL express database,

step1: You will need to go to control panel -> database -> mssql admin -> attach new db

step2: Create an FTP account in the SQL server with the FTP login of [accountid_db],

step3: Afterthat, you have to download your SQL express database data file fromyour web server App_data folder via your FTP account in your web serverwith login name of [accountid] Or If you have the SQL express databasein your local computer, you can go directly to step 4

step4: Upload the SQL express database data file to the SQL server using the FTP account you just created in the SQL server

step5: Please attach the database in the SQL server by inputing the database name, database login and database password.

step6: Finally, you have to reconfigure your connection string in your web.config of the file you set your connection string:

How is my Domain affected once I make DNS Changes?

This is very important, please read below.

	How your domain is affected:Once your domain's DNS information is changed it will take about 1 to 2days to complete depends on your domain registry. During this period of transition, your domain may ormay not work from all places. This issue will automatically resolveitself by no latter than the 3rd day. .
	If your web site is hosted by another service: During the period of transition, visitors looking at your domain will either see: a) your web pages at your old host's servers OR b) your web paged hosted in our servers. .
	How your e-mail is affected: Please follow the section below "E-Mail Accounts Transfer" to avoid any email downtime.
